This important day is celebrated every year on December 10 — the day on which the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.

In Conversation with Dr. Dolana Mogadime
In preparation for Human Rights Day, members of the WRDSB’s Human Rights Branch spoke with Dr. Dolana Mogadime about human rights, her personal connection to education in Canada and what she believes every educator should know about human rights.
Dr. Mogadime is a professor in the Department of Educational Studies at Brock University. Her research interests are in human rights and curriculum studies, critical sociology of education, equity studies and feminist theories.
