Snow Day For Waterloo

On February 2, 2015 students from Waterloo District School Board woke to a pleasant surprise. Instead of putting on their boots and hats, they stayed in their pyjamas and enjoyed a nice bacon breakfast. At 5 o’clock in the morning, news was posted on the wrdsb’s website that it would be a snow day.

Overnight, around 30 cm. of snow had fallen to reveal a white wonderland of fun. Children bundled up and played outside until their toes were cold, and adults made sure they had enough hot chocolate to last the day. When asked, a student from Tait Street School said that he was very excited to eat bacon, spend the day in his pyjamas and have a break from doing homework. Students did not expect it to be a four day weekend. With snow ploys on their toes, students know it will not be a snow day tomorrow.
