Tait Street Public School was opened in 1958. Tait Street P.S. is a school of approximately 550 students in junior kindergarten to grade six. Our staff, of about 60, includes classroom teachers, special education teachers, French teachers, special education assistants, a library clerk, secretaries, custodians, a vice-principal and the principal. The staff works very closely together to provide a welcoming, safe environment and to assist students in reaching their goals. The main purpose of the time spent at school is to gain the academic knowledge and skills that will help students be successful, productive citizens. Tait Street’s goal is to create a partnership between home and school, “fostering caring and compassionate life-long learners”. At Tait Street, there is a strong emphasis placed on a safe, positive, and friendly atmosphere where all students learn to the best of their abilities while respecting the rights of others to do the same. Students and staff use the “ROAR” Tait traits to guide student behaviour. Working together as partners in education will keep the Tait Street motto alive – TAIT IS GREAT!
